Technology has already made advances to commercial window cleaning. Gone are the days when window cleaners would turn up to a site with only a ladder and a bucket of water. In this article, we take a look at future technology in commercial window cleaning.
Reach and wash pure water system
Today, commercial window cleaners are more likely to use the reach and wash pure water system.
The reach and wash pure water system allows commercial cleaners to clean windows from the safety of the ground. By using state of the art carbon fibre telescopic cleaning poles, cleaners can reach most windows without climbing a ladder up to a height of 80 feet. This system garners the same results as a “hand clean” wash, by using an intricate system of brushes and water jets. Pure water is also used instead of chemicals and leaves a spot-free finish.
While this already sounds advanced, technology looks like it will innovate window cleaning methods even more:
Biotechnology
Researchers are making leaps and bounds in manipulating molecular structures. For window cleaning, this means more effective cleaning formulations and shinier windows. The detergents of the future will contain renewable bio-ingredients that have been modified to improve performance. They’ll also be able to be used with lower temperature water, saving on the use of hot water.
Reduced packaging
With more efficient detergents, cleaners will require fewer containers, saving on plastic consumption. This might not seem that amazing compared to the other advances on this list, but with the recent campaigns on plastic pollution, anything that reduces our use of plastic can only be a good thing.
Microprocessors and sensors
The advance in technology is allowing researchers to develop automated window cleaning devices. Running on state-of-the-art microprocessors, these devices will recognise when shop windows need to be cleaned and will clean them automatically. This more efficient way of cleaning windows will result in a reduction of energy, water, and cleaning solution costs.
High-throughput screening and modelling
The way commercial cleaners do their jobs will also change. Instead of arriving at the site and cleaning the windows, commercial cleaners will use screening and modelling to find the most efficient way to clean the window before they arrive on the site.
Advances in technology will mean that maintaining clean windows will get easier and smarter. In the process, commercial window cleaning will become even safer and environmentally friendly.
