Yes, as a commercial cleaning company it is our duty to provide full RAMS’s (Risk assessment and method statement) before we commence any work. Our site supervisor and external cleaning operatives always sign the risk assessment and method statement before beginning any task.

As a company we minimise the use of chemicals, but have a duty and desire to deliver the deepest possible clean. Sometimes the use of chemicals is unavoidable. Full, site specific risk assessments are carried out before our teams are authorised to use any chemicals in cleaning.

Which method chosen to clean a canopy will depend greatly upon the building fabric used for the canopy.

Cleaning a fabric canopy would usually be carried out using label compliant cleaning products with the active ingredient of Sodium Hypochlorite. The chemical is usually sprayed or brushed onto the surface, killing off organic life before being gently steam cleaned to remove biofilm.

Glass canopies are cleaned using either traditional window cleaning methods with mop and squeegee or with the use of water fed poles and purified water.

Metal canopies are usually cleaned using steam cleaning equipment along with a neutral detergent. A metal canopy constructed with copper or aluminium will require the use of specialist cleaning agents for the particular surface – ensuring the deepest possible clean without damaging the surface.

We use a wide range of access methods in our building cleaning projects, including truck mounted cherry pickers, self drive 4×4 MWEP’s, Spider lifts and Mobile access towers. Our teams are IPAF and PASMA trained while also being fully insured for working at height.

When it comes to cleaning glass cladding, care must be taken to ensure that the glass is not scratched in the process. When cleaning metal cladding, we sometimes use a process known as soft washing. Stone cladding is cleaned using DOFF Super heated steam cleaning technology for the deepest possible clean that is proven not to damage stone – unlike the use of a high pressure petrol pressure washer.

We clean UPVC with water fed poles and pure water along with a detergent for deeper cleaning where required.

Wood can be quite a delicate material, so we never clean wooden cladding with a high-pressure washer. We use chemicals to clean wooden cladding effectively.

The frequency with which you need to clean your Cladding will depend on the environment around your building and the pollution conditions.

At a minimum, we would recommend cleaning your cladding at least once per year, but more frequent cleaning could be necessary every six months or so in areas of high pollution or traffic.

Removing graffiti from natural stone facades such as limestone can be challenging, however with the correct combination of chemicals, patience and experience it is possible. This is normally achieved using a multi stage chemical application process followed by the use of a poultice for stone cleaning in conjunction with steam cleaning.

Unfortunately if your windows have been attacked using homemade graffiti devices containing acid then the graffiti will be etched into the glass. The only way to remove this is to polish the glass.

If graffiti is to be removed from brick, stone or render then we will need to use steam cleaning equipment. Removing graffiti from non porous surfaces is quiet in comparison as it does not require the use of a steam cleaner.

The best way to remove graffiti from brick is to use a 2 stage chemical removal process coupled with steam cleaning. The first chemical takes the top of the paint off, while the second removes the shadowing of the paint from the brick or stone.

You can remove Graffiti from Glass carefully with a scraper and a graffiti removal product. Extreme care needs to be taken not to scratch the glass, it may be a job left to a professional graffiti removal company.
